- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Note: Skip the salt if you use salted butter.

It’s easy to bake these homemade cookies. Just follow these steps.

- Prep the Oven: First, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until they are smooth. Beat the eggs well, then mix them into the butter mixture. Add the milk and vanilla and mix until everything is combined.
- Add the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir by hand. Add the rest of the dry ingredients and mix until the dough comes together.
- Shape the Cookies: The dough might be a little soft. You can chill it for a bit to make it easier to handle. Roll the dough into small balls. Keep them separately on the baking sheet.
- Bake and Serve: Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. The edges should start to turn golden brown. Take them out of the oven. Immediately sprinkle sugar on top while they are still hot. Let them cool down completely.
