Finance calculators

Fourteen free tools for borrowing, investing, pricing and payroll. No account needed, no limits and every one shows the formula it used.

What these tools do

Fourteen calculators covering the money questions that come up most often: borrowing, investing, pricing, tax and payroll dates. All of them run entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server and none of them asks you to sign up.

Start with the right tool

Borrowing money. The EMI calculator handles any amortizing loan and gives you the full month by month schedule. For a house specifically, the mortgage calculator adds property tax and insurance, which is why its figure is closer to the real monthly bill.

Growing money. Compound interest projects a lump sum forward. The SIP calculator does the same for regular monthly contributions. ROI works in the other direction, measuring what an investment actually returned.

Running a business. Profit margin separates gross from net and shows the markup figure alongside, since confusing the two is a common cause of underpricing. Break-even tells you the volume needed to cover fixed costs.

Work and payroll. The HR date calculator handles working days, notice periods and length of service. The experience calculator adds up every job you have held.

Every tool shows its working

Each calculator has a panel that prints the formula with your own numbers substituted in, so you can check the arithmetic rather than trust it. That matters more in finance than anywhere else, because the figures feed decisions about debt and income.

Most of them also show a short "what if" row beneath the result: the same answer recalculated at a different rate, a different term or a different price. The real question is rarely what a payment will be. It is which of two options is better.

None of this is financial advice. These tools apply standard published formulas to the figures you enter. They do not account for fees, variable rates or the tax treatment in your jurisdiction. Speak to a qualified adviser before making a financial decision.
